Journey Above the Cloudes Day 2.

Morning came early on this day as well; it was around 10.30 in the morning and Sun shining. We were all ready and packed to give the sights around this hill, we begun the trek to Z-point, highest point in Kemmangundi, bole-to- 'zhakhaas' View point, Quiet satisfied, recharged up, mesmerized, and carving for more after a good last night sleep...

We moved around towards the Peck, on the way just crossed a small water fall known as Shanthi falls, the path from there is a long zig zag path, in the direction away from the peak for a long while. though the trek was not arduous but was certainly rewarding. It felt good though to sweat out after some time; anyway, the prize of 4 kms trek was just beautiful. Standing on the top of peak, watching whole world as small as ant, I planned to build a bungalow there, funny huh!! That moment was enough....I was relaxed till last cell of my body. Then in the snap of a second I knew what Sir. Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing would have thought at the pinnacle. We all chatted there and took some snaps. The reward, of course, is a roller-coaster journey down to the huge valley. And my memories got unforgettably painted with those views, Coming back on saddles Heading towards Hebbe falls.

The ride to the falls was the hardest that I have encountered so far on the way, we were riding on a road made up of loose stones and soil and that too down hill. It was a recipe for disaster; we were doing around 10 kms per hour only most of the time… We pushed on and reached at the gates of Coffee Estate, from where bike cannot go any further, walking through the coffee-garden was delight to senses. Crossed some small streams on the way!!!! Gradually, the noise of falls hit our ears. Already, the scenes of beautiful estate enchanting us and then we saw, from a distance, the mighty falls. WOW!!!! I honestly regard as one of the most beautiful falls that I have seen. The falls is broken down hitting a rock projection half way through making as imposing view. This breaking makes into two - a big fall and a small fall(Seen in the picture). Big one known as Dodda Hebbe and small one Below know as Chikka Hebbe. Chikka HebbeWater plunges from 150 feet (Little less then the Big brother Dodda Hebbe) and bangs against a huge rock that is continuously being shaped by this torrent.Spraying waters made the environment misty white. It was really amazing sight!!!!

We wanted to trek to Dodda Hebbe, after Doopadagiri before taking a right turn to Baby estate, one needs to turn left to reach Dodda Hebbe. This trek is supposed to be very treacherous and one needs guide, but no body was around who could help us out, and region full of leeches during monsoon, we left that this time and headed back. walking inside the forest stretches towards falls during monsoons is like a walk through hell thanks to the millions of writhing blood-sucking leeches that infest these forests. even after walking non-stop till the falls, I had to pluck out 5 leeches and Had to donate some blood even though I Never wanted to Leaches.

Happy this time around after seeing one among the best Water falls falls, we returned to our saddles and started ride back, Looking at the Z-point on the way while comingback from falls,
It was time to head back towards Kuduremukka,
There are two routes to reach chikkamaglore one a Shorter but scenic, the road which we took while coming and another longer through relatively bland one but having better road condition’s, I decided to drive back the same way, so that I can enjoy those spectacular views yet again and hoping this time there will no mist around.

On the way Back towards Babba Budan Giri.

On the Road towards Baba Budan giri

As soon as we landed near Baba Budan giri Hill, As always It started raining, these huge hills, pearsing through clouds and just not letting them to go bay.... With rain around hoping to reach chikmagalore by 6.00 pm we moved on.... As I was about to take leave from mountains I promised them that will be back… For sure.... Very soon….We said bid adieu to our ally- the Mountains!!!!.

As soon we come down the hills towards Chikamagalore It was utterly different… Our senses felt Temperature Rising, and Pollution all around….On our way towards Chikamangalore found a person lying in middle of the road , stooped to check what has happened at first glance thought; that he had meat with an accident, Instead, he was suffering from convulsion. Struggling badly in middle of the road, stooped my bike pulled the off keys and hold his had with keys…. But that did’t make any difference, Vijay came there, told to get some iron rod but could’t find anything around , instead stated pulling my bike back so that he can hold my bike Guard, in the mean time a car stooped beside us, the Guy helped him out... Soon he was on his feet, and started crying.. And to our Surprise!!! later found that, he was from Tumkur had come to the Baba Budan Giri for pilgrimage in holy month of Ramzan and he was left behind by his friends on there way back to Tumkur till this point already he had walked around 35 kms from the pick towards chikamagalore.. can't belive!!!!, And Cannot leave him there also.. After enetring the Chikamaglore city, I Moved on towards City bus Terminal, While Vijay and nagi went on in search of Internet cafe to transfer some photos, Soon after dropping him at bus stop with some bugs so that he can make to tumkur without any more hiccups’…. I headed back towards internet cafe, and romming around best and the Better part of City,it was Like MG Road Of Chikkamagalore and as it was sunday evening Did ser large Crowed on Road, and After a Quite refreshing break and much need one at MG Road of Chikamagalore, at click of 8.00 we pushed on towards Kuduremuka hoping to land there by 10.00 pm.

took off towards Mundigere, soon zoomed passed Kottigere… Here I missed the right turn towards kalsa, moved on and on!!! Later inside the Shirdi Ghat... It did’t take me long to realize actually we where on the wrong way… And heading towards Dharmasthala. Well Now Again!! Driving Back was out of question with rain just round the corner, continued to drive on towards and Pitch there for Night!!!!

At 10.15. We where at the foot steps of Dharmasthala, After reaching there, I thought to Move on till Mangalore or else head towards kuduremuka next day morning… Then I was wondering is it possible to find better place to stay over here….. As i was wondering Viji also came up with option to ride till Mangalore, I said fantastic!!!! Thinking to surprise tabi!!!! It’s just another 65 kms more. So it was Mangalore now!!!! Soon we tanked up our stomach at Dharmasthala instead of kuduremukka as planned and it was almost 11.00 pm, again our machines roared, landed at Mangalore by 12.15 Am. What a grate day..... If the rest of my trip was like that. I would have never stopped....
